Tyumen region stretches from the Arctic Ocean to the boundary with Kazakhstan and divides the Russian Federation into two parts: Ural and Siberia.

The region is divided into 2 autonomous okrugs: Khanty-Mansyisky and Yamalo-Nenetsky, 28 districts, 24 towns of the regional submission.
Centre of the region is the town of Tyumen. It was founded in 1581.
