Tula area
Geographical location
Tula region is situated in the central part of the East-European plain. It borders on Lipetsk region in the south and south-east, on Orel region in the south-west, on Kaluga region in the west, on Moscow region in the north, on Ryazan region in the east.
Main rivers are rivers of basin of the Oka.
The climate is temperate continental.
Administrative division
The region is divided into 23 districts, 9 towns of the regional submission, 12 towns of district submission, 48 town settlements, 347 villages.
Centre of the region is the town of Tula. It was founded in 1146. Distance to Moscow is 193 km.
